Robert Frances, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PEAK Financial Group, will serve as Co-Chair of the 2020 edition of the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer, spearheading the event for the second year in a row.
Recognized as one of Quebec’s largest fundraising events, the Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer has raised an astounding $60 million since its launch in 2009.
Every year, influential figures from Montreal’s business community agree to take the lead, giving their time, expertise and energy to renew the experience and help find a cure for cancer. This year, Mr. Frances will serve as Co-Chair along with Sylvie Demers, Chair, Quebec Market, TD Bank Group.
“Last year, the 1,200 cyclists who took part in the challenge raised more than $4 million. The feeling of involvement as you ride along with thousands of cyclists, many of whom are struggling with cancer, is incredible,” Mr. Frances recalled. He also pointed out that cancer affects everyone: “We all have relatives, co-workers or friends who are affected by this terrible disease or have died from it. And yet science and research are making giant strides, and we can look forward to finally finding a cure.”
PEAK Financial Group intends to double the number of cyclists on its 2020 team and invites all the other companies in the financial industry to take up the challenge. “It is also an extraordinary team-building opportunity for companies of all kinds,” Mr. Frances added.
