What you'll do

The guaranteed investment certificate (GIC) agent is responsible for processing all GIC related transactions including reregistration and transfers. More specifically, this position encompasses:

Process incoming and outgoing GIC transactions (purchases, maturities, and interest payments) in client accounts

Input GIC rates from Cannex

Ensure transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner

Prepare EFT payouts for Finance

Identify and correct errors as required

Assist advisors with GIC inquiries and concerns that arise

Follow-up with advisors on any pending request, including making outbound calls

Liaise with GIC issuers (follow-up on GIC confirmations)

Set expectations around timelines and adhere to those stated expectations

Prepare comprehensive procedures for all GIC processes

Participate in special projects/assignments; perform other duties as required


What we’re looking for

College degree;

2 years experience in the financial services industry

Excellent in research, analysis and problem-solving

Good knowledge of MFDA and IIROC regulations (an asset)

Good knowledge of registered products

Ability to work as a team member

Ability to work well under pressure

Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (bilingualism is required - French & English)
